72 hours at SeaSpace: The active edit
Whether you're chasing surf, stretching at sunrise or picking up your pace along the coast path, here’s how to get your pulse racing on an active three-day break at SeaSpace.
Day one: Surf, stretch and spin
Start with intention and stretch into your rhythm with yoga, beach fit, or Pilates in the SeaSpace studio. Cool down with a few laps of the 19-metre pool or soothe your muscles in the hot tub.
Super green smoothie, granola bowl, or eggs on sourdough? Refuel for a day of active adventures at the SeaSpace café.
Walk (20 mins) or drive (two mins) to Watergate Bay for a surf lesson with Wavehunters. No matter your level, they’ve got all the kit and know-how to lift your wave riding to the next level.
Top tip: Book a slot in their wave-side sauna for the end of your session.
Hop on a Beryl bike from SeaSpace to Newquay Activity Centre (13 mins) for an adrenaline-pumped coasteering session – swimming, scrambling, and rock-jumping your way around Newquay’s wild Atlantic coastline.
Back at SeaSpace, join the Friday Padel & Pint social (book in advance) – fast-paced fun on court with a chilled pint or spritz in hand after. Not Friday? No problem. Book your own padel session and cool down with a pint and pizza at TALLO.
Day two: SUP and swim
Skip the studio and stroll to Porth beach (five mins) for a morning sea dip. Want to push yourself on an open-water swim? WOW Swim Coaching’s got you covered. Warm up with Cornish coffee and a cheeky pastry from R.Place before heading back to base.
High tide? Grab a portable SUP from the Wavehunters hire locker and head to Porth for a glide across the glassy lagoon. Want a change of scene? Drive 10 minutes to the Gannel Estuary and launch into calm waters winding inland from Crantock beach. Keep an eye on the tide and turn back before Penpol Creek — you’ll spot the footbridge marker.
Low tide? Bellyboard on Newquay’s town beaches instead. No kit layout or lessons needed to ride Britain’s earliest surf craft. Simply swing by Dick Pearce HQ or Fringe Surf Shop to hire a classic wooden board for free. Then it’s just you, the waves, and the rush of rumbling along Atlantic rollers.
Pool time. Back at SeaSpace, clock up the laps or slip into the hot tub for a muscle-soothing soak.
Stretch your legs on a 20-minute stroll around Porth Island – straight from the doorstep – then settle into sundowners and Med-style small plates with a view at TALLO.
Day three: HIIT and run
Sign up for the Beginners Padel Session (Mon, Tues, Thurs & Sun), or grab a friend and book your own court. Rally, sweat, laugh it out. You might get hooked on the nation’s fastest-growing sport.
Refuel with a superfood salad from the café. Whatever you eat, stay light – you’ve got a trail to hit.
Lace up your runners and hit the South West Coast Path. Porth to Watergate Bay is a punchy out-and-back with sea views – around 2km each way. Feeling strong? Push on to Mawgan Porth – 5.5km each way – with calf-busting elevation, switchbacks, and sea-spray drama.
Want to roam further? Choose from over 600 routes along the coast path and get moving.
Wind down with evening yoga and deep stretches at SeaSpace. You’ve earned a sundowner and good night’s sleep beside the waves.
